Sri Lanka

February 7-13th 2027

hylE

a return to source.

Set amongst the vast paddies of Ahangama in the south coast of Sri Lanka; where nature seems to extend beyond human design. A place where form softens and we can be held by something even older than thought. Through practice, rest, and immersion in nature we are taught to let go of structure & expectation and return to fundamentals stored within breath, sensation & awareness.

Each twice daily yoga practice, morning & night, is an opportunity to bring us back to this essence; with nature as true presence rather than simply a backdrop, informing us in ways of movement & breath as means to uncover what is already within.

Your Host and Yoga Teacher

Zoë Markos-Thresher

South East London & Athens based Yoga Teacher, Zoë Markos-Thresher, will be your host and yoga facilitator throughout the retreat guiding you through twice daily yoga practices which are inspired by over 500 hours of training accumulated in the styles of Vinyasa, Mandala, Rocket & Yin (Zoë is also Pre + Post Natal trained). Zoë’s intention for this retreat is to connect practices of movement, breath & awareness to the wild surroundings of Ahangama, giving us permission to move with the less organised rhythms of nature and reep the benefits of our beautiful retreat location.

Morning practice is always dedicated to more dynamic styles, giving us time to drop into deep focus through thoughtfully sequenced practices with a challenge or two along the way. Zoë loves sharing several types of asana practice; whether you find your calling in a creative vinyasa, a powerful rocket, or a flowy mandala class. Each carry their own flavour and this retreat container becomes the perfect place to lean into all things breath-paired movement and find what truly speaks to you.

Evenings will see us wind down with a slow, soft & mindful yin practice - known for its’ nervous system benefits, aid with sleep and deep fascial tissue work. But most importantly, food for thought and inspiring philosophies of yoga will be the narratives that carry your practice. Whilst your body leans into the movement and breath, Zoë also loves to give you something to think about on your way home. We will have some optional pilates classes on offer at selected times during the retreat led by Dora Jones.

Our hope is that you leave this retreat capsule having returned to what was already there within you, truly inspired and at home within close proximity to nature.

I so hope to meet you on retreat sometime soon,

Love Zoë x

“Zoë is so warm and welcoming it’s like a breath of fresh air as soon as you arrive, you immediately feel welcomed into the peaceful uplifting environment she has created for you. Group practice was always really well-guided and inclusive for all levels, but still bringing a challenging element. Food and activities like wine tasting and cooking classes were all spectacular. Zoë and Dora are not only brilliant teachers, but warm hosts with positive energy. I can’t wait to retreat with them again!”

On The Menu

Our hero of the kitchen is the wonderful in-house chef Ramesh who's totally in charge of keeping our tummies full during our stay. Sri Lanka boasts incredible cuisine; colourful, nutritious & clean. Meals are thoughtfully curated and ingredients are sourced with consideration so you can expect great things at each meal time. Provided within the retreat package are two meals per day: a post-yoga breakfast brunch and hearty evening dinner with a tea break & afternoon snack somewhere in between. This gives us the opportunity to also explore nearby restaurants in Ahangama, if you’re a 3 meal per day kind of person, and support local businesses in the area.

Please make us aware of any dietary requirements upon booking.
