Your Hosts

Yoga teacher Zoë Markos-Thresher will be your main host and yoga teacher for the duration of the retreat. With 450+ hours of training in the styles of vinyasa, mandala, rocket and yin yoga you will be sure to explore a variety of different asana styles, deepen your practise and truly notice the effects of this daily practise on both your mind and body. Having taught on a 2 week retreat on Zakynthos island in 2023, Zoë felt that this quiet, rural spot on the northern tip of the island was truly a special find.

We are incredibly lucky to have the amazing Jesse Kempner, head Chef at Mindful Chef, curating three fresh delicious meals for you every day.

All ingredients will be sourced as locally and organically as possible so that we can promise the most nutritious and healthy food options for you whilst also supporting local business and agriculture.

Naturally, there will be flavours of mediterranean cuisine; think fresh salads, local dishes and dips, with Jesse’s added twist, for lunch, three course evening meals and a rotation of fresh breakfasts to start the day off.

We can cater to all dietaries, just let us know when making your booking, and although largely vegetarian there will be meat and fish options at dinner time, a bonus BBQ night and a meal out at a local taverna on the final evening.

Our lovely Ellie Marsh will be taking care of your massage treatments, with a background in dance, and trained in sports & Swedish massage, you will leave feeling totally relaxed and restored after 60 minutes in her hands! She has travelled with the likes of The Peligoni Club, National Dance Company Wales and Helios Retreats. With her wealth of experience, the treatment will be catered just for you.

FAQ’s

  • What is the food like and do you cater to dietaries?

    Yes, we cater to all dietaries. Just let us know at the time of making your booking! For breakfast will be a variety of things to choose from: overnight oats, smoothie bowls, eggs fresh fruit and greek yoghurt. Lunches will be a buffet help-yourself style meal with colourful salads, pulses and dips. For dinner we will have a three course meal and there will be some fish and meat options also. Expect flavours of the meditterrenean and Greek traditional dishes! One night will be a BBQ night and there will also be tea, coffee, snacks and fresh juice provided daily.

  • Will there be any fitness classes or is it just yoga?

    We will have morning dynamic yoga practice, which will no doubt build up a bit of heat, and a slow chilled yoga session in the evening before dinner. In between these there will be optional run clubs, group hikes, watersports and swims. It’ll be sure to be active!

  • What is there to do in the local area?

    Plenty! You can take a trip via boat, or hike, to Navagio Shipwreck beach which has incredible 360 degree views. Take a boat trip to the caves, famous for the crystal blue turquoise water. Swim with turtles! Mizithres beach for views and hikes. Visit local tavernas or pop by Peligoni Beach club for a day of watersports.

  • What are the payment options?

    We take a £450 non-refundable deposit to confirm your spot on the retreat. From there, it’s totally up to you how you prefer to settle the remaining balance. Here are some options below:

    1) settle the remaining balance 6 weeks before the retreat begins

    2) monthly payment plan options to scatter payments

    3) extended payment plan, if discussed, beyond the retreat end date

  • I've never been on a retreat before and feel a little anxious going alone, do you have any advice?

    It can definitely feel like a nerve-wracking thing to do, travelling abroad alone to spend time with a group of strangers! But from personal experience, it can be a really special and valuable time to invest and dedicate to yourself with very few distractions around. You can socialise with the rest of the group as much, or as little, as you wish. And who knows - you may come away from it with a new friend!

  • I'm relatively new to yoga, is this retreat suitable for beginners?

    Not a problem at all - in fact a retreat can be a great way to fully immerse yourself in the practise as a beginner. You will definitely learn as you go and Zoe takes time to explain the postures, breath work and intentions behind the practise. You can always pop to a few local classes where you live beforehand to familiarise yourself better!
